E-commerce accounting can be a nightmare. We’ve all been there.

It’s one of the ugly sides of online retailing that nobody wants to deal with. Looking at the $$$ on your profits is the best feeling ever, but consolidating different reports from all your marketplaces all at once can be a nightmare. Nonetheless, whether we like it or not, accounting and bookkeeping is a vital part of any business.

But don’t panic, you can now integrate Webgility.com in the Skubana app store to simplify and automate your data into a Quickbooks and Xero.

Unify for Skubana = Quickbooks AND Xero

Webgility has launched their application in the Skubana app store and it is SUPER easy to set up and execute. The integration enables you to take control of your accounting, eliminate the hassles of data entry and computations, and reclaim time that can be spent hustling for your business.

Unify for Skubana does all of this and more. It takes care of a company’s entire spectrum of bookkeeping needs. The solution allows sellers to automatically schedule and post online sales data from any channel or Skubana directly into QuickBooks or Xero. You can also record all aspects of a online sale, including customer information, item details, product price and quantity, while generating sales receipts and invoices at the same time. No manual entries, no computations, no fuss, no mess.

The Simple Flowskubana-webgility-simple-flow

There are two ways a seller can utilize Unify for their business. The Simple Flow is when the system uses Skubana as it’s single source for all upstream data – which includes orders, products, customer details, locations and PO’s. Unify then breaks it down into basic buckets of information before posting it on Quickbooks or Xero, making it easier to manage and adding flexibility to the ways the system works for you.

More good news is Unify can provide and apply logic to the way you sync your data. You can aggregate orders into single daily consolidations or change the way your data is posted into the accounting system, so you’re not overburdened with irrelevant numbers. You can monitor only what you want, when you want it, so that all the work won’t weigh you down.

The Complex Flowskubana-webgility-complex-flow

While Skubana continues to be the master of all inventory, orders and PO’s in this integration, there are other financial data that a business must take into consideration when doing the accounting. To address this, sellers can also utilize the Complex Flow. This will merge data, by pulling the most accurate inventory details and order statuses from Skubana, then combine it with additional direct sales information from Amazon such as:

  • commissions on a particular sale
  • detailed sales tax
  • discount codes
  • gift card payments
  • shipping collected

For Amazon sellers in particular, accounting and finance is baseline critical, which is why it’s crucial to know the breakdown of all the fees and other charges, along with your sales data and inventory.   By applying any of these options, you can be sure that all your valuable data will also be incorporated and intact into Quickbooks or Xero before applying logic.

Here’s an inside look at the entire settlement report, found at the Expenses Tab, where Amazon sellers can check for various expenses connected to their Amazon store. Fees are summarized depending on relationship to the sale.

    • Order-Fee Types – expenses that arose because of a sale.
    • Non-Order Fee – fees collected regardless of whether you make a sale or not.
    • Refunds –  tax, giftwrap chargebacks, goodwill, principal, and shipping.

What’s Inside?

As much as we’re able to automate all your bookkeeping needs, sellers still have control over what the system will do for them. These key features add that extra flexibility to this new integration so sellers can focus on other things that matter to their business.

Sellers can navigate to the the Sales Tab to look and take action on different subsets of data. You may opt to view your sales per channel or per store, and find details on each order.

There additional buttons give even more control over what you want to do with your data.

  • DELETE – for duplicate entries or entry errors
  • IGNORE – for items that you think are accurate but don’t want to redownload
  • REFRESH – to make sure you have the most updated information always
  • RESTORE – to bring back any deleted items

This last action in particular is something that you can’t even do with other accounting software like Quickbooks. In normal accounting, you can’t take anything out once you put it in. The second your data hits the general ledger, your only choice is to reverse it, not remove it. However, with Unity, just hit “UNDO SYNC” and it will reverse syncing so you can take out any mistakes that you’ve made.

Ready to explore other sales channels? By connecting your entire multi-channel business with this and Skubana, you can ensure your accounting is accurate, timely, and organized, even while you grow.

No matter how tedious accounting is, we can never deny its relevance to every business. By measuring your profits properly, it’ll help you identify areas to improve and keep track of how your finances are going. It is easier to know what’s doing well, what is lacking, and make necessary changes as soon as possible. With the help of this new accounting integration, we can be sure of how your business stands amongst others. That level of security and peace of mind knowing that your money matters are taken care of  is PRICELESS.
